Darden Family Office — Services

Family office services, privately delivered.

Five disciplines, coordinated by a single team that knows the family — not a roster of departments to be navigated.

A coordinated relationship

Most firms organize themselves around products. A family office is organized around the family. Our services exist to be combined — investments cannot be advised well without knowing the tax position, the estate plan cannot be drafted well without knowing the cash-flow, and legacy decisions touch all of it.

i.

Investment Stewardship.

Fiduciary portfolio oversight built around the whole family — not a single account.

Investment work begins with the family's full picture: liquidity needs, tax position, risk capacity, income requirements, private holdings, illiquid concentrations, charitable goals, and the time horizons of the people who will live with the consequences.

We favor judgment over product. Open architecture means we recommend what the family needs, not what is profitable to sell. Portfolios are built deliberately, rebalanced thoughtfully, and reviewed in the context of everything else happening in the family's financial life — never in isolation.

  • Asset allocation across liquid & private holdings
  • Concentrated stock & equity-comp strategy
  • Tax-aware portfolio management
  • Income & distribution planning
  • Manager selection & oversight
  • Coordination with custodians & trustees
ii.

Planning & Tax Coordination.

We help the family's investment, tax, estate, and cash-flow decisions work from the same map.

Most families have an attorney, a CPA, and an advisor — each excellent, none reading from the same page. We sit at the center of that triangle. We don't replace counsel or accountants; we make sure their work is informed, current, and acting on the family's behalf in a coherent direction.

Tax-aware planning runs through everything we do. Charitable structures, retirement income strategy, education funding, the timing of a liquidity event, the choice between Roth conversions this year or next — these are coordinated decisions, not isolated tactics.

  • Tax-aware planning & CPA collaboration
  • Estate planning coordination with counsel
  • Charitable & donor-advised strategy
  • Retirement income & distribution planning
  • Education & intergenerational funding
  • Liquidity & major-purchase preparation
iii.

Trustee & Fiduciary Support.

Quiet, capable backup for individuals serving — or being served by — trustee arrangements.

Trustee duties are demanding, even when they're loving. We support individuals named as trustees, families working with corporate trustees, and beneficiaries who want a knowledgeable advocate in the room. Our role is consultation and coordination — never a substitute for legal counsel.

For many families, this is the most differentiated thing we do. It is also the most personal: the work touches grief, family dynamics, and decades-old documents drafted before the world we live in now.

iv.

Family Governance & Legacy.

The conversations most families don't quite know how to have on their own.

Money is the easy part. The harder work is what wealth means to a family — how it was built, what it is for, and how decisions about it should pass to the next generation. We facilitate the conversations that make those answers conscious rather than accidental.

The work moves at the family's pace. Some clients want a structured retreat; others want a quiet, recurring conversation with a daughter or son. We meet families where they are, and offer just enough structure to make the meeting useful without making it heavy.

  • Family meetings & facilitation
  • Next-generation financial education
  • Values & legacy articulation
  • Charitable giving & DAF coordination
  • Decision-making structures
  • Continuity through life transitions
v.

Boutique Financial Administration.

Some needs do not fit neatly into a financial-planning category. That is often where the relationship matters most.

A family office relationship absorbs the quiet, recurring administrative work that otherwise spills onto the kitchen table. Insurance renewals, beneficiary updates, account consolidations, real-estate closings, professional referrals — the small things that, ignored long enough, become large things.

We do not aspire to be everything. We aspire to be the one place a family member can begin a sentence with "I'm not sure who I should ask, but —" and get an unhurried, capable answer.

  • Document organization & archives
  • Insurance review & coordination
  • Household financial oversight
  • Vetted-professional introductions
  • Real-estate & major-transaction support
  • Special projects & long-term to-dos

Some of these will matter immediately. Others will matter five years from now. All of them, eventually.
