Mark Minder, RFC MBA
Director of Business Strategies and Advanced Planning
Mark works with Darden Wealth Group’s high-net-worth families on the planning that matters most as wealth grows: tax strategy, estate planning and the legacy they want to leave. He coordinates with clients' CPAs and estate attorneys so that tax decisions, trusts, business interests and gifting plans all work toward the same goals, for this generation and the next.
For business owners, that means planning that connects the company to the family balance sheet, including retirement plan design, entity and compensation decisions, succession and exit planning. For physicians, executives and other professionals, it means managing high incomes tax-efficiently and building a plan that holds up through every stage of a career.
Mark began his career in 1996 as a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch in Dearborn, Michigan. After seeing how large Wall Street firms put their own interests ahead of their clients', he set out to work differently. He later served as the key investment advisor on more than 30 institutional accounts across Michigan at TIAA-CREF, founded Minder Planning Group in 2010, and joined Darden Wealth Group in 2020.
Mark holds the RFC® Registered Financial Consultant certification through the IARFC and an MBA in Finance with a minor in Accounting from Davenport University.
Mark has a daughter, Emmerson, and a black lab named Ozzy. He serves on the Davenport University Alumni Board and, to pay forward the opportunity he was given, created an endowed scholarship for Detroit-area students studying finance. In his free time he follows his local sports teams, travels and explores history.
